Fiesta de Albuquerque
Sightseeing in New Mexico

I got in Wednesday afternoon and headed over to Santa Fe to visit with my good amiga Pilar Medina Cannizzaro, and her charming husband Nico. We had a wonderful dinner at a place called La Cantina There the waiters and waitresses serenaded us with show tunes as we had a yummy southwestern dinner and drank margaritas.
The next day we spent a morning and afternoon shopping through the Plaza shops and having lunch at La Fonda. We visited over more scrumptious southwestern cuisine and, yes you guessed it, more margaritas. I like Santa Fe! Shopping scores: A beaded earring and necklace set made in Guatemala, and a colorful stone bracelet for my daughter.

Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi
Shops in the Pueblo architecture
San Miguel Mission.
Oldest Church house in the United States.

Friday was a day of workshops and a trip to the Land of Enchantment Doll Museum & Shoppe. Rosalie Purvis has a doll Museum that is like no other. I was like most others who had never been there, amazed at the collection she has beautifully maintained and displayed. There was also a little side refreshment room complete with drinks and small munchies tastefully decorated and inviting.
Chili designed hot air balloon.
Palace of the Governors.

Just a sampling of Rosalie's enormous collection.

I really liked the Barbie Ole display, and the doll modeled after Rosalie's wedding dress.

This doll is Kristan Molchin's Gene dressed in southwestern style. The dress was made by Joan Davis. Gene takes a moment in front of the Hyatt Regency and makes like Marilyn Monroe New Mexico style.
